Doing Something By Doing Nothing

You know when you’re just sitting there wondering what to do with yourself? You’re not sure what you feel, you’re not sure what to do but you know that you’ve got to do something.   You stand up, you get dressed and then you hit a wall... you’re feet are stuck in place and you’re not moving anywhere. You sit back down, and you’re at square one. A few minutes go back and we’re going in for round two. You stand back up, your feet are moving forward, you’ve walked out the front door, and you’ve made it outside and now what? Maybe you go for a walk? Or maybe you get into your car... but where do you go now? No destination in mind, but here you are sitting you car, basically re-enacting what you did at square just now you’re in your car. Alright, time for round three. You start the car, you pull out of parking spot and you’re off the races (not literally).   The music is playing, the windows are down, the is sun-shining and still no destination in mind.   Stopped at red l...

I See Your Soul Poem

You kept me close, Never too far, You kept me close, Then you left a scar, A scar on my heart, A wound beyond repair, For the day you left me, In chaos and despair, Where did you go? How could be this be? This was never meant, to be our reality, A soul once radiating, Now left to burn, These ashes are building, Too many to fill this earn, For love that is lost, Yet still so alive, Apart in our physical bodies, Yet in spirit, We thrive, We are as one, Our hearts beat in sync, Let’s connect, our missing link, You touched my soul, As I felt yours, Rekindling our love, Like waves upon the shores, A gem so rare, You hold on tight, The love we cherish, Is worth the fight.

7 Steps To Undertsanding Your Thought Process

I want to take a second here and share with all my readers a trusty tool I have learned in order to help you understand your thought process. This tool will not only help you nip negative thoughts in the butt, but it will help you see that perhaps some of the choices you are making in life are feeding old/bad habits when all this time you thought they were positive re-enforcement's - because isn’t the ability to make a decision a good thing? There are 7 basic principles/steps, you need to understand and go through individually in order to come to an accurate conclusion of why things are happening around you and what did we do to contribute them, whether it’s positive or negative. The first one is situation.   What current situations are in that have you feeling troubled, sad, angry, happy, confused etc... and be honest about it. The second step is; what beliefs do you have about this situation as in what do you believe in your mind to be true about the given situation you...

Strength In Moving Forward

Today when I woke up, I felt nothing but pure calmness. I felt happy. Sitting in the living room, drinking my favorite vanilla soy pecan coffee, all there was, was sheer silence. In that silence I could hear it all, every thought processing through my mind. Reflecting on past memories that once gave pained me to think of, that now I find comfort in. I am able to find comfort because I am thankful I got to experience those moments. It’s not that they were terrible; they pained me because I wanted to keep reliving them every day. But you can’t recreate moments. That’s why all those wise people will tell you to enjoy them while you’re in them because once they’ve passed, they’re gone and a new moment has begun. Truth is, I didn’t always wake up this way. By that, I mean I wasn’t always so appreciative of past memories. Sometimes I wished I never lived them so I didn’t have to feel such sadness every time my mind went back to it. Reality was that, my approach was a poor way of looki...

Thoughts = Investments

I do a lot of reading. I never use to but in the last few months I find myself turning to different books in order to better understand myself and push me to that next level. These books I read are all predominately about well-being and mind set. They force me to take the time to think and focus about myself when sometimes my mind tends to wonder. Reflecting on myself I’ve been able to see how comfortable I have gotten over time accepting second. You know, putting everyone else’s needs above my own. One of the books I am currently reading and thoroughly enjoying used this analogy in terms of how critical our everyday thoughts are. They said to think of thoughts as investments. In other words what we think, whether it is positive or negative will continue to grow over time. When you think negative, you generate more of those same negative thoughts. A lot of the time we do this subconsciously. Or if you think of something that makes you happy, you begin to notice other things arou...
