Take a chance on your self

“Thoughts are like trains, they take you somewhere”
You’re on the side of the road. The clouds are looming overhead. The trees are swaying in the wind but that fire in your soul is busting at the seams.
Although the clouds seem dim, and the coldness of the air takes your breath away, here you are. Waiting, for something better, waiting for something new, but what you’re desperately waiting for, is relief.
Standing on the side of the tracks, the train passes you by. And without a glimmer of hope that it will stop, you’re left with one choice- to jump.
What if you stumble and fall? What if you get hurt? But what if it’ll hurt you more to idly stand by and watch your dreams fade into oblivion.
“The process of change does not occur merely by “positive thinking.” It involves deep exploration and discovering. It involves changing our deepest, most basic attitudes towards life.”
Picture the train as your mind. And all the passengers on the train are your dreams, your thoughts, every wish and every hope. The train steams on forward and you’re on the side of the tracks watching it leave it you behind.
You want to be on board, you want be swept away in the glory of success, of happiness, and you’re aching for that feeling of self-worth.
The problem is, you’re standing on the side of the tracks because you’re waiting for someone else to tell you what to do. You are waiting for someone else to fill that void you carry around, but in the depths of your soul you know that only you can fill. And the only way you can fill it, is to take a chance on yourself.
More often than not, we let opportunity pass us by because we don’t believe we deserve it, that we will be good enough to be successful with it, we think about the what if instead of that what if we don’t.
“The worst mistake anyone can make is being too afraid to take one.”
Take that leap, dive in head first, and jump off that cliff into your sea of dreams. Take those missed chances, and believe you can be great.

Our Minds Distort Our Mirrors

When you look in the mirror what do you see? Are you happy or do you stand there and pick yourself apart body part by body part, wishing you saw something different?  Here's the thing- in this new social media era, somehow the concept of body image has been so insanely distorted that truth be told no body really knows how THEY want their body to look. All they see is what SOCIETY thinks it should look like. Last time I checked other people didn't live your life, you do.  All these new online apps come out and the majority of the world sits on these apps scrolling through seeing how happy everyone else is, how 'in shape' they are, that being lean is the only type of sexy... and about 9 million other ridiculous concepts about what to eat, how to live, how to look etc...  When let's be real here- what you see in photos is not always how it actually is. It's an image of what they want you see about them or their life.  In my opinion there is no such thi...

The 5 Second Decision

“You will never”... how many of you have been told that, said that or worse, believed in that? Who you become; what you have, what you think and feel these are all things that are based around one capability. A capability I might add, that we all possess. This is the ability to make a decision. Not a decision for your parents, your siblings, your friends, but for YOU. It’s that simple. You see something, you go for it. You want something, you do everything you can to achieve it. You’re probably going to sit there and tell me, it’s not that simple. There are a thousand and ten variables that come with making an informed decision.   What is being “informed” anyway?? If you’re the type of person who says this- you have been living a life of excuses. Making a decision is simple. Simple doesn’t mean easy. Someone once said, “Indecision means the door is still closed.” Meaning- you are closed off to opportunity.   You are stuck in a small frame of mind. That being s...

Broken Glass Poem

Through your eyes, The glass wall shatters, And piece by piece, Suddenly nothing else matters, The broken shards, Are stained with red, And nothing but sorrow, Is filled in your head, The fractured glass, Digs wounds in your soul, With the feelings of misery, That are taking their toll, Pierced by pain as the glass cuts deeper, Sitting and waiting for a miracle peacekeeper, Searching for signs of change to occur, And hopes of this all becoming a blur, Swept away with hope, And brought to clarity, A save haven for peace, And ultimate tranquility, A new life has started, With no broken glass in sight, For you have pulled through the darkness, To see the sunlight.
