Lately I find myself asking when the events in my life will quit snowballing into one another... Don't get me wrong, I have a wonderful life that I am forever grateful for, however some of the time it's just one shit thing after another for a brief period until it passes, but until then, it feels like it'll never end.
It can be a challenge to not let all the emotions consume your mind. A multitude of a thoughts rush in and I am just baffled at how to make sense of them all. What's ironic is the BIG "problems" are the ones I should have been prepared for. Those inevitable changes that you know are coming but just smack you right in the face as they walk past you. My head feels so clustered that it could honestly explode into a million pieces.
So how do I make sense of it? Well, usually begins with calling my "person". The one who sees you at your best and your worst, you listens to your every complaint with no judgement, celebrates every victory and isn't afraid to call you on your shit! These people are VITAL, if you're going to make your way through life and remain sane! Mark my words.
The second thing you'll see that I do is I spend a lot of time writing poetry, which if you read this blog page, you'll see that. I write because it's my escape from all the negativity and chaos, leaving me free to unleash whatever is on my mind cleansing my soul. It's putting all my deepest thoughts down which in turn lifts a giant weight off my shoulders. Even going back and re-reading what I've written really puts some of my thoughts into a clear perspective. Call me crazy, but it's one thing to think them and nothing to visually see them staring you back in the face. They invoke different energy and different feeling. You know, people keep saying "life is what you make of it" and ya, sure there is some truth to that but honestly some times you need to ride out the cards you've been dealt. You can't always make a bad situation good, you can't please everyone and you won't always feel happy. That's life. So maybe instead of saying life is what you make it, it should be "Everything that happens in your life is based on how you react to the events that occur in it"??? not as catchy, but far more realistic don't you think???
